New York nightclubs can be a great place to strike up a conversation {and possibly kindle a romance}. But when Jamie went into Shaun's nightclub, she certainly wasn't looking for her husband-to-be, she was actually looking for a job! {Even with little experience and a padded resume, Shaun knew there was something special about her and hired her immediately}... After an adorable courtship, the couple planned their wedding at the Glen Sanders Mansion with Carolina Wahnish Rivera to photograph their every move! Take a peek...
Jamie wore an Alvina Valenta dress in ivory lace with a taupe underlay and taupe sash, paired with a beautiful pair of Badgley Mischka open toe shoes, and a veil by Nina. Jamie wanted to create her wedding out of things that were both vintage as well as items that had a more modern feel.
Shaun proposed to Jamie in Central Park at The Boathouse, surrounded by some of their close friends, on a very rainy day. Insisting that they keep their dinner scheduled {in spite of the weather}, Shaun led Jamie down towards the fountain and got down on one knee. "He had hired violinists to play our song, but they had to back out due to the weather...he was bummed out about that, but I thought it went perfectly. The fountain, the rain, the man; all perfect," said Jamie.
Simple programs with lace trim and a light peach print were stunning and elegant, especially accompanied with bouquets made up of hydrangeas, spray roses, and peonies.
{Braids for flower girls are perfect ~ you can do so many different variations of them while keeping the girls looking neat, clean, and stylish}!
{We love these personalized wire handers, they're perfect for keeping track of all the bridesmaids' dresses}!
Jamie's bridesmaids wore dresses by Jim Hjelm in a champagne color. Jamie said she stayed away from too much color in order to keep things modern and classy. {Mission accomplished}!
The groom wore a custom made tuxedo from My Suit in Manhattan, as his groomsmen donned black tuxedos from the Vera Wang collection from The Men's Wearhouse.
"The ceremony was outside Glen Sanders Mansion with the mansion as our backdrop. Most people have the river as their backdrop, but there was so little rain that year that the water level was a bit low so the mansion was a more beautiful choice. We thought it turned out beautifully," said Jamie. {So do we}!
The flower arrangements and centerpieces were designed by Splendid Stems. Flowers from the ceremony were also repurposed so they could be used to fill the reception hall.
The large strawberry shortcake was covered in cascading flowers to match the theme of the wedding and went along perfectly with the place cards designed by Boo Sracic of Bootique Chic.
Jamie and Shaun chose the Glen Sanders Mansion for its location, beauty and rustic bar {perfect for a late night after party}! "We knew that we would only get one day, so we wanted to make sure it was a lengthy one. We had our DJ move to the bar to play more rowdy music until morning," said Jamie.
