"The Retro Housewife" Styled Photoshoot from Cindy Larkin
As fashion stylists, we're often in need of new and innovative ideas. That's how photographer Cindy Larkin found herself searching beyond the "go-to" photoshoot location. While perusing Pinterest {something we're forever guilty of}, Cindy was inspired by a black and white photo of a woman doing her makeup. We can't help but have thoughts of vintage glamour and old Hollywood as this photoshoot turns the everyday things of make-up, hair, cooking and cleaning into editorial inspiration!
Thoughts of "I Love Lucy" inspired the Retro Housewife theme for this styled shoot. We love the sophisticated and dramatic, yet completely approachable and sweet look of the model, Kari. Her distinctive hair, makeup and sassy attitude make for a very fresh take on this classic concept.
Cindy borrowed the props from her Aunt including a vintage phone, ironing board, vacuum, newspaper and a few canning supplies {tres-retro!} Kari acted out each photo play-by-play as she and Cindy created this collection on the fly... seems like it was straight out of a movie! According to Cindy, "While a few of these images were thought out carefully ahead of time, most of them just came to us as we unleashed our creativity together."

Oh my! I so love this! It makes me feel like I was born in the wrong era. What happened to this kind of class?! I wish I looked glamorous while I was ironing. Cindy Larkin... YOU are AMAZING!!!
