After meeting through a mutual friend, Melissa and Joseph eventually traveled to Costa Rica where they endured an all-day hiking excursion to a waterfall. Upon reaching their destination, Joe caught Melissa off-guard and passed a camera to the tour guide. He popped the question right then and there. The romance continued with a swim in the waterfall and private dinner with their own chef in the rainforest {how adventurous}!
After such an extravagant proposal, Melissa and Joseph kept their ceremony relaxed and warm. They chose to make the wedding slightly vintage with a nod to an eclectic eggplant and green color scheme. The bride wore an ivory Pnina Tornai satin gown. It was strapless, with ruching throughout and a corset tie back from Kleinfeld {so beautiful}! The men wore grey suits with eggplant colored ties and pocket squares.Melissa honored her deceased father by tying a memory pin to her bouquet. The flowers included a medley of vibrant green, dark purple and white accents. {We love the funkiness of the green spider mums incorporated with the grapes and other flowers in her bouquet as well}!
Romance erupted as the couple recited their own vows. While admitting to being nervous, they agreed the special emotion made the experience worthwhile. Melissa said "I'll always remember the emotion I felt telling Joe how I feel about him as well as listening to his sweet words to me."{How sweet!}
The reception had both a romantic and rustic feel ~ with centerpieces in wooden wine crates, spray-painted wooden table numbers and tons of candles.
