She currently lives in Los Angeles, working everyday on expanding Bleu Garters, and Wardrobe Styling as time allows. She loves taking frequent trips to New York, over-consuming properly chewy bagels, warm flaky pies, and cast iron skillet mac and cheese. We had the pleasure of chatting with Jaime about her inspiration for Bleu Garters, as well as her tres-fun design process....
Merci: What inspires your oh-so-pretty designs?
Jaime: I find inspiration in the pure celebration of love! To be a part of someone's wedding day is a touching, and thrilling, experience... and to give them something which reminds them of that day is even more special.

Merci: Why did you decide to design garters, specifically?
Jamie: When I was designing custom wedding gowns for brides, I had countless requests for garters. I couldn't find any garters on the market that were modern, luxurious, and classy. The garter had really been neglected for a couple decades, and most existing styles had not evolved for the contemporary bride. It had the potential to be an alluring, fun, and beautiful finishing touch. If that weren't enough, it could become a personalized heirloom keepsake, similar to a piece of jewelry, much easier to keep accessible or display than a large wedding dress; hence, Bleu Garters was born!
Jaime: I scour antique marts and fabric dealers to find the most beautiful laces, and finish them off with a luxurious silk-satin ribbon. With a not to a more traditional garter, we also make fabric garters created from fine silks and taffetas in gorgeous colors.
Major thanks to Jaime for sharing her gorgeous work and inspiration with our Merci New York readers!
