Stylist Q&A: Five Dresses That are NOT Wedding Gowns... But Could Be!
1. Alice + Olivia "Milly" strapless sequined ballgown; 2. Alexander McQueen gown with satin drape collar; 3. Alice + Olivia "Bess" strapless gown;4. Ice blue Notte by Marchesa gown; 5. Elie Saab beaded bodice gown.
Question {from Anna M.} : Hey Jacqueline! Hope you can help me out. I'm planning a wedding on a very quick timeline. I know it can take a really long time to order a dress from a bridal salon. Are there any great "off the rack" options I can try in the NYC area?
Answer: Great question, Anna! As a Manhattan-based fashion stylist, Bergdorf Goodman can literally be my office... I'm there several times a week perusing the pretty for all kinds of clients. In fact, I was shopping for an uber-chic mother of the bride this week, and came across these five fab gowns that might work for you. They each have very "bridal" elements, while also being chic, fashion-forward, and most importantly, ready to buy! I'm sort of obsessed with them {added bonus: A few even have very "non-wedding dress" prices}. Without knowing more about your bridal style, I hope this is a good start!
p.s. Readers, Would you wear any of these on your wedding day?
xx,
