Real NYC Engagement Shoot | Anna + Carlos in the West Village

Photobucket
New York...it's glamorous, its romantic, its hectic.  But what most of us often forget, is that its also relaxing, inspiring, and just plain beautiful.  While we {clearly} love playing dress up here at Merci New York, we also enjoy a lazy Sunday filled with good coffee, a peaceful stroll, and great company.  Anna and Carlos, beautifully photographed by Joan Allen, reminded us of how sometimes we need to stop, look around and just enjoy life!

Anna and Carlos met at Wilifie and Nell in the West Village on a Monday night out.  Carlos walked over to Anna and her friend asking if they could "save" him from a woman who had just joined him and a colleague.  Playing along, Anna walked up and said, "Carlos! How are you? I haven't seen you in 3 weeks! How was California?"  Accepting the challenge, Carlos improvised with Anna for an hour constructing stories!

Both being huge Disney fans {who doesn't love Disney, right?} Carlos' proposal was right out of a fairy tale!  While visiting Anna's family in California, she woke up in the middle of the night to a rendition of "Someday My Prince Will Come".  Frazzled and confused she was drawn to the window {of her childhood bedroom, no less} to find a lantern and her Prince Charming {costume and all} down below, looking up at her.  Carlos said, "Anna, you make my dreams come true.  Will you marry me?"  Now if that doesn't make you want to watch Cinderella, what will?

With a destination wedding in Malibu, California, coming up in just a few weeks, we hope that fairy tale magic follows Anna and Carlos down the aisle!
