From Merci New York's initial
pow-wow on the project, to our line preview with the Donna Morgan design team,
detailed location scouting, careful model casting and all the stylistic
steps in between, the shoot was a treat to help concept and create.
As you can imagine, "styling" the photoshoot was much more than just putting
gorgeous dresses on the models and accessorizing them to a tee - it was
mostly about thinking about who the Donna Morgan bridesmaid is - and
making sure that we aesthetically captured in her the campaign. The beauty of the Donna Morgan collection is that it
is wonderfully diverse. To prove that, we styled the campaign with
specific vignettes in mind - from a garden party, city soiree, black tie
affair or outdoor fete, with hope that our resulting looks really
showcased the versatility of Donna Morgan for a variety of brides across
the country.

From Donna Morgan… Donna Morgan, known for its fashion forward silhouettes and incredible price point, is excited to announce its new bridesmaids’ collection for Spring 2013. The line will capture the same style, craftsmanship and affordability as the daywear. Making its debut at Bridal Market Week in New York City, October 13 -15, the new collection is ideal for the bride who wants stylish, fashion-forward dresses at prices her friends will appreciate.
For Spring 2013, Donna Morgan offers a collection of 40 styles in a variety of silhouettes and fabrications. Keeping with tradition, the core of the Donna Morgan collection is created each season in silk chiffon. In addition to the timeless fabrications, this collection marks the debut of new fabrics such as tulle, silk georgette and organza.
For the fashion-forward bridesmaid, the collection includes peplum, fit-and-flair and sheath silhouettes. These new shapes transform the classic wedding into a chic affair that displays the bride’s personal sense of style. A vast variety of color and texture are offered to match and compliment every bride’s vision. Dusky shades such as “amethyst,” “midnight” and “grey” pair well with the evening city wedding while lighter, airy shades such as “hint of mint,” “blush” and “peach fuzz” are offered for a casual day time affair. Classic silhouettes in silk chiffon fall at the practical price point of $158, while fashion-forward styles range from $178-$198 — affordable without compromising style. The Donna Morgan styles work well as guests-of dresses, an added benefit to both the bride and her maids.
To launch the new Spring 2013 collection, Donna Morgan collaborated with chic wedding stylist Jacqueline Weppner from Merci New York and New York photographer Trent Bailey for campaign images that have a real wedding feel. The campaign was shot at the iconic Surrey Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and captured six unique bridal party stories.
