When most people think destination wedding, they think somewhere tropical: The Caribbean, Mediterranean, perhaps even a stateside vineyard... but have you ever thought of our neighbor up north?  Canada combines a rustic ambience with their own modern flare ~ as shown in this styled shoot brought to us by Candle Wax Studio and Telegraphe.

One venue dishing out incredible food with a warm atmosphere is the L’Auberge Saint Gabriel in Montreal, Canada ~ the location for this creative wedding shoot.  Here, guests are offered a modern lifestyle mixed with European sophistication.

The design, thought up by Vanessa Sicotte from Damask et Dentelle, takes us back to the twneties with furs, diamonds and luxury. The bride and groom in this shoot embodied Gatsby-glamour...

Elizabeth wore an Anne Jean-Michel dress and accessories from Birks to achieve this old time, glamorous look {and nail polish that matched her décor}.  The groom wore a suit by Waxman. Sicotte also took trendy colors such as Tangerine Tango orange and Peacock Feather blue, as well as touches of gold and silver, to brighten up the space and add a new, modern twist to this classic theme.

By using furs, peacock feathers and old pianos of different sizes, guests are reminded of "deco-decadence," such as the roaring parties from Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, said Charlotte of Telegraphe

L'Auberge Saint Gabriel is a gastronomic restaurant offering several reception rooms that can welcome between 20 to 150 people.  The dishes, artfully prepared by Chef Eric Gonzalez, include duck foie gras,  filet of beef and jumbo shrimp...just to name a few.

“He smiled understandingly ~ much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced ~ or seemed to face ~ the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
