Real NYC Engagement Session | Chris + Danielle in Central Park

When you're a kid, transferring to a new school can be tough, but we guess it must be worth it when you find the man of your dreams...  Danielle saw Chris for the first time when he jumped on stage during their sixth grade play.  Her mom leaned over and whispered, "That's the boy you are going to marry."  Mom knows best, right?

Photographer Brian Hatton took these high school sweethearts to their favorite city spot for their engagement shoot: Central Park!
"We've lived here for the past four years and love everything about it.  We knew that someday we wouldn't be living so close to Central Park {where we walk our puppy and spend most weekends} so we wanted our engagement photos to always remind us of the part of the city we adore so much!" said Danielle.

Danielle and Chris started dating in junior year of high school and have been together ever since {their wedding is scheduled on their nine year anniversary!}  Chris thoughtfully had a ring designed for Danielle with his Grandmother's engagement diamond in the center.  While he had certainly brainstormed different ideas on how to propose, once he had the ring in his hand he couldn't wait any longer...

After picking up the ring, Chris trekked across Manhattan while asking Danielle's dad permission for her hand over the phone.  Her dad told him to go get his girl - which he wasted no time in doing.  Chris pulled Danielle out of work, took her to a park bench outside a flower shop and proposed.  Sometimes the most spontaneous and simple plan is the best way to do it!

With all of these great NYC shots, you would think it would be hard to find a favorite, but Danielle said this one of her and Chris standing in the street is hers.  "We weren't aware Brian was shooting...  We thought he was reloading something on his camera, and it's a completely candid moment.  Chris looks particularly mischievous, and I look like I get a real kick out of this guy.  Both of those things are very true," said Danielle.
