Back from a sabbatical, Melissa Sweet is ready to launch her Fall 2012 collection ~ Melissa Sweet Sacred. We were lucky enough to attend a brunch hosted by Melissa Sweet to drink champagne, listen to great music and of course catch a glimpse of this new beautiful wedding dress collection!
Featuring ethereal designs with Sweet’s trademark whimsical detailing, the Melissa Sweet Sacred collection will be shown at trunk shows and salons this fall. And the fashion-forward bride will be thrilled to hear that one-of-a-kind dresses will be available as well, {how special is that?!}.
In addition to the overall darling designs, we were completely smitten to hear “Sacred” dresses will feature a hidden pocket in the bustier. The pocket will allow brides to place something that’s sacred to them close to their heart. Ideas include a piece of her mother’s veil, a wish from her groom, a locket or a reminder of someone who has passed on {we love this idea}!
Something "sacred" to Melissa is her non-profit foundation Vida Auténtica which works to nourish families in developing countries through green houses and educational programs. Each dress purchased {ranging from $5,000-$15,000} will send 100 percent of its net profits to the foundation.
Amy Shey Jacobs {from Chandelier Events} worked to put
together this brunch and chose Saxon + Parole for the occasion, which was a
perfect venue to host women who were hungry for champagne as well as new
bridal fashion!
Hatch Creative Studio brought their own delicate touches to the room to create a light and fresh atmosphere against the worn wooden panels {we love the light on dark effect}.

The rustic atmosphere was softened with a candlelit fireplace,
beautiful flower arrangements and oh-so-fun cocktails!
Here I am {far right} with the lovely editors of Brides Magazine. We had a lovely time ogling over the gorgeous wedding gowns together at the brunch!
Each of us received a handmade pouch with a special one-of-a-kind message inside. The pouches were made by local children in Costa Rica, where Melissa held sewing classes while she was on sabbatical dreaming up the Sacred collection.
We are so happy to have been able to participate in this
event and can’t wait to see these dresses make their way to so many beautiful
brides!
