This might sound a little over-obvious, but as a fashion stylist, my favorite part of attending bridal runway shows is seeing the dresses up close and personal. A client hires us to make sure she is stunning from all angles as she as she passes down the aisle, swirls for her first dance, and poses in profile photos. So it's very important to be at the runway shows to soak in every angle of a gorgeous gown. And that's exactly why I'm so thrilled for today's post...
When bridal market went down last April, I asked my dear friend Trent Cobb of Trent Bailey Photography if he would accompany me to the Marchesa runway presentation. We expected Trent would take some stills as the models sashayed his way - but when we arrived, Trent was given strict orders that stills were not allowed... We looked at the normally crowded photographer "pit" as they call it, and there was not a soul to be seen. Yikes. Clearly there was a missed memo of sorts.
Luckily, being the fab photog he is, Trent also had a brand new Super 8 camera in his bag of tricks. And as the music began and the models emerged from a chiffon screen, Trent captured the most stunning footage of the show, exclusively for you dear Merci New York readers...
I'm so thrilled to share this beautiful moment with you. Trent is such an artist. I hope it gives you an insider's glimpse of a gorgeous show - as well as why seeing the dresses on the runway is so very important for what I do... Enjoy!
{PS - Details of some of my favorite dresses are shown below... And just to drive home my point, I'm not always showing you the front}!
