For many brides, "rain+wedding" certainly sounds like a recipe for disaster. But when droplets dared to threaten Meredith, and Dutch fiancee, Remko's big day they, Phototerra photographer Michael Greenberg rose to the occasion...
Meredith, who dreamed of a sun soaked Central Park bridal shoot, was left with the potential of ruining her Amsale gown, impeccable make-up, and flawless 'do. However, the photographers suggested that the couple relocate their bridal session to capture the {indoor} charm of NYC through Grand Central and The Yale Club of New York City. Meredith takes us through their big day filled with family, friends, Dutch tradition, and a sprinkle of improvisation...
"The day of the wedding, we woke up to rain, so it was Plan B for our photos. I had dreamed of pictures in Central Park, but we traded the Bow Bridge for photos at the Yale Club."
"Remko, his dad, and friends had champagne on the roof of our building when the rain let up, and then went to Oyster Bar at Grand Central to eat Dutch herring before coming over to The Yale Club to pick me up, where I had been getting ready with my mom, Remko's mom and my bridesmaids. We appreciated having extra time to spend with our friends getting ready."
"The Dutch tradition is that a man picks up his wife-to-be from her parents' house on their wedding day, so this was the next best thing. My dad walked me down the stairs to Remko and seeing him for the first time was a moment of such absolute joy."

The Proposal:
"Remko and I met in the fall of October 2008 at a black-tie fundraiser thru another Dutchman {Remko moved to the US from Holland in 2004}, and he won me over immediately with his charm, wit, and skills on the dance floor. We both love to travel and got engaged on the beach in Park Tayrona, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, but when it came to deciding where to get married, we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere but New York, and couldn't wait to welcome all of our friends and family to share in our city."

Absolutely gorgeous wedding! Any way the bride could tell us whether her dress is ivory or white - it's hard to tell in the photos (but it is beautiful in any case)! Many thanks!
