Bridal Market Bits | Sarah Jassir Fall 2011

We are back with a bit more of last week's bridal market coverage, this time from the ever-inventive Sarah Jassir. Previously known as "Sarantina by Sarah Jassir," the designer abridged her company solely to her namesake this season.
With the streamlined company name came a streamlined aesthetic for Fall 2011. Saturday's presentation at the Setai focused on designs that were a bit more daring than seasons' past... Body skimming styles, low backs and innovative fabrics wove a common thread through the runway. The presentation exuded sensuality and seduction, giving fair reason for Sara to entitle the Fall 2011 collection "Desire."
The marrying of romantic lace and body skimming silhouettes transforms a traditional fabric into something a bit more sensual and unexpected...
The low back of the style at left was jaw dropping. At right, Sara Jassir's interpretation of the most popular bridal market trend: the blush gown.
At left, a modern sweetheart neckline and silhouette are contrasted by a sweet lace cap sleeve. At right, an unexpected "something blue" by way of a bold bow.
Modern takes on the short dress - including {a refreshingly!} short yet ethereal dress for the modest and sophisticated bride {at right}.

About the designer, Sara Jassir: Always passionate about fashion, Sara Jassir spent her formative years in her mother's atelier watching her make exquisite gowns for private clients. Sarah's destiny as a designer was sealed when she made her first lace skirt at the precocious age of 13. This was to be the start of a life-long love affair with fashion... With an avid desire for fashion, Sarah Jassir intertwines grace, femininity, and bold designs into her bridal gowns.
