Portfolio: Deco-Inspired Bridal Fashion Atop the Chrysler Building

Are you ready for some epic eye candy? I've just been so excited to share this shoot with you; and am even more thrilled now that BRIDES magazine's newly designed blog, Aisle Say, has picked it up as well...
Merci New York recently worked alongside Adrienne Colosimo of Bespoke Affairs to create a Art-Deco inspired fashion shoot that speaks to the city bride. Photographed by Brian DeMello, the images represent the very first bridal fashion shoot atop the legendary Chrysler building.

As young New York City based event designers and stylists, Adrienne and I both adore transforming bare spaces into luxe vignettes, and gritty city locales into posh fetes. But no project has been half as exciting or scintillating as the one we were faced with this spring.
On a Friday, we received a once in a lifetime opportunity to produce and design a jaw-dropping bridal editorial shoot atop the Chrysler building.
That next Tuesday, we made it happen - marking the first-ever bridal editorial shoot on the historic, landmark building.
As an iconic part of the New York City skyline, the Chrysler Building is a masterpiece of Art Deco architecture and one of the finest buildings in Manhattan.
Having mere hours to construct and execute our vision, we decided to pay homage to the buildingʼs design, and style the bride with an Art Deco sensibility, all while keeping the look current and obtainable.
We called on some trusted friends in the industry to help complete the look, and couldn't be more pleased with the inspiring outcome. We hope that you will enjoy the beauty and grace of our bride soaring above New York's majestic cityscape. Film Noir meets Gotham City.

Thanks for posting the images Jackie and Merci New York. You were by far the best partner in crime EVER. To say this couldn't have been done without you is an understatement. I can't wait to do it again soon. I also plan on sending brides your way looking for styling advice, desert bars, etc!!! Much love and gratitude.

great location for a wedding photo shoot, Mandi - thanks for sharing this! I'm in love with the last one - this location lends itself to add some drama with wind :-)

I love the drama and effect, seems like futuristic! It is really a challenge to prepare for your own wedding but hey you're happy right so no problem! I was just looking around blogs for a good wedding paper to use for my invitations then I stumble upon this blog and I think I'm getting good insights for my own wedding. Thanks!

Interesting how, living in the City, we might simply ignore the irreplaceable treasures all around us...until someone reminds us of them.

Thanks for this great shoot, which shows the dresses off (literally) in their beste possible light (and shadow).

BTW, I particularly love the sky in the final B&W image. It looks almost like a painted matte background for a noire film...like a ceiling;
